Something happened on the road to Emmaus. Two disciples, grieving and confused, were walking away from Jerusalem when a stranger fell into step beside them. He opened the Scriptures. He broke the bread. And when he vanished, they turned to each other and said: “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked with us on the road?”

That’s us. Hearts Burn NYC is an outdoor faith community for Gen Z and Millennials in New York City — gathering biweekly at Union Square Park to encounter Jesus together on the road.

We’re not a building. We’re a people. We open the Scriptures in the open air, share meals, ask hard questions, and make space for the kind of conversation that changes you. We believe the risen Christ is still meeting people in unexpected places — and that New York City is one of them.

Led by Al Ngu, a pastor and church planter, Hearts Burn NYC is a place where faith is lived out loud, where doubt is welcomed, and where the fire of Luke 24:32 is still burning.
